Dr. Francisco Sotomayor is a highly accomplished medical professional specializing in Clinical Genetics and Immunology. His impressive academic journey includes earning a Medical Doctor degree in 2014, followed by specialized training in Clinical Genetics in 2018 and Immunology in 2022. In the pursuit of academic excellence, he obtained a Master of Sciences in Basic Immunology in 2022. From 2018 to 2023, Dr. Sotomayor served as a clinical geneticist at the National Centre of Medical Genetics in Cuba, focusing on the diagnosis of congenital defects and genetic diseases. Simultaneously, since 2022, he has been contributing his expertise as an immunologist at Borras Marfan Hospital, specializing in patients with Inborn Errors of Immunity. Dr. Sotomayor is also a dedicated professor at the University of Medical Sciences of Havana, teaching Medical Genetics since 2016 and Immunology since 2020.

Throughout his career, Dr. Sotomayor has demonstrated a profound commitment to scientific research and clinical care. As an associate researcher at the National Centre of Medical Genetics, he conducted significant research projects, notably a study on genetic risk factors associated with the clinical severity of COVID-19 in Cuban patients and their first-degree relatives.
