Dr. Imilla Casado Hernández, a renowned Cuban scientist and academic, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the Universidad de Oriente. With an impressive professional journey, Dr. Casado Hernández has achieved the academic title of Master in Medical Humanities. Her scientific career has led her to the position of Aggregate Researcher and Assistant Professor, indicating her significant contributions to the fields of immunology and hematology.
Dr. Hernández has accumulated extensive experience, initially working at the Centre for Immunology and Biological Products (CENIPBI) at the University of Medical Sciences in Camagüey from 1997 to 2014. Since 2014, she has been an integral part of the Institute of Hematology and Immunology in Havana, continuing her impactful research. Her professional journey is marked by her involvement in numerous postgraduate courses and training programs, including international initiatives like the training on “Methods of obtaining, concentration, and characterization of autologous adult hematopoietic stem cells” in 2017.
Throughout her career, she has been part of various groundbreaking projects, focusing on topics ranging from infectious diseases to regenerative medicine. Her important contributions go beyond research and encompass laboratory diagnostic services related to primary immunodeficiencies, flow cytometry, stem cell isolation, and evaluation of the immune response.
