Dr. Oleg Suchalko is a proficient bioinformatician with specialized expertise in analyzing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) data for clinical genetics. His foundation in human genome analysis is comprehensive, covering Whole Exome Sequencing (WES), Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS), variant calling, annotation, and Copy Number Variation (CNV) analysis. Dr. Suchalko’s role in a bioinformatics team focuses on developing automated pipelines for efficient and precise NGS data processing. His dedication to selecting the most effective analysis algorithms demonstrates his commitment to advancing the field. Beyond NGS, Oleg has developed skills in RNA-seq analysis and programming with Python, utilizing essential tools and technologies like Git, GitHub, Docker, version control systems, and PyCharm.
Dr. Suchalko’s academic background includes a master’s degree in Biophysics from Lomonosov Moscow State University, where he completed his studies between 2014 and 2020, encompassing both bachelor’s and master’s programs. His professional journey in bioinformatics commenced as a Research Engineer at The National University of Science and Technology (MISiS) in December 2019, progressing to his current role as a Bioinformatician at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University since July 2021. Here, he continues to contribute significantly to clinical genetics and NGS data analysis.
Fluent in Russian and proficient in English, with basic knowledge of German and French, Dr. Suchalko has also pursued professional development through courses and certifications, including the School of Bioinformatics and RNA-seq data analysis at Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University. With a career spanning 4 years across various institutions, including a year at ADSCC, Dr. Suchalko’s approach to bioinformatics combines strong analytical capabilities with a mastery of bioinformatics tools, making him a key player in the domain of clinical genetics and NGS data analysis.
