Professor Angelo Luigi Vescovi is a distinguished figure in the field of molecular pharmacology and stem cell research, boasting 39 years of professional experience. He earned his Doctoral Degree in Molecular Pharmacology from SUM Milan, Italy, and completed post-doctoral training in Cell Biology & Developmental Neuroscience at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. His academic journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry from the Industrial & Technical State Institute in Milan, Italy.

Throughout his illustrious career, Professor Vescovi has held various esteemed positions in academia and research. He commenced his career with fellowships at the National Neurological Institute “C. Besta” before assuming managerial roles at the Italian Ministry of Health, overseeing projects like “Autologous transplantation for the therapy of Parkinson’s disease.” He has served as an adjunct and associate professor at institutions worldwide, including Milan, Italy, Brisbane, Australia, and Huston, Texas, United States.

In addition to his academic roles, Professor Vescovi has held managerial positions, including Vice-Director of Research in a Pathology department in Canada and Director of Stem Cell Research and Banking in Italy and Switzerland. He has also founded and held chief strategist positions at biotech companies. Furthermore, he has been actively involved in bioethics committees in Milan and Rome, Italy.

Professor Vescovi’s contributions extend into clinical practice, where he has coordinated numerous studies, including the “Safety Study of Human Neural Stem Cells Injections for Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis (NSC-SPMS)” and “Dose Escalation Phase| Study of Human-recombinant Bone Morphogenetic Protein 4 Administrated Via CED in GBM Patients.” He has also served as the Principal Investigator of “Human Neural Stem Cells Transplantation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS).

Recognized for his exceptional contributions, Professor Vescovi has received over 20 awards, honours, and accolades, including a nomination for Permanent Member of the Pontifical Academy for Life by Pope Francis and the Excellence Award of the ANMIL Foundation for Research on adult stem cells. Throughout his career, he has made significant strides in advancing scientific knowledge and translating research findings into clinical practice, earning him global recognition and respect in the scientific community.
