Head of the Clinical Trials Division
Dr. Yandy Castillo is a distinguished medical professional with over 16 years of experience in the field. Currently serving as the Head of the Clinical Trial Division at Abu Dhabi Stem Cell Centre, he specializes in immunology, with a focus on apheresis procedures, clinical trials, and regenerative medicine.
Dr. Castillo’s journey in medicine began after obtaining an MD Diploma of Intensive Care and Emergencies, which led to First degree specializations in both General and Integral Medicine and Immunology. Dr. Castillo worked as a General Physician at the Polyclinic Dr. Ernesto Che Guevara, affiliated with the University of Computing Sciences in Havana, Cuba. He furthered his education and training by completing residencies at esteemed institutions including Leonilda Tamayo Matos, Ramon Gonzalez Coro, and Victoria de Giron in Cuba.
He focused his training towards specializing in the clinical assessment of biological drugs certified by CECMED, adjunct to delivering courses and lectures on various topics related to pharmaceutical regulation, good clinical practices, and vaccination at prestigious institutions in both Cuba and the UAE. Beyond his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Castillo was dedicated to serving as Lecturer & Senior Professor of the subject “Blood and Immune System” at the Medical Sciences Faculty “Finlay-Albarran” in Havana, Cuba before relocation to the Emirates in 2019.
Since his move, Dr. Castillo has had such a pivotal role as Quality Manager and Head of Clinical Trials at ADSCC, with his leadership and expertise being instrumental in advancing research and therapeutic applications in stem cell technology and the bone marrow treatment program. Dr. Castillo’s contributions to the field of medicine and research are highly regarded, and his innovative approach continues to drive advancements in healthcare.
