Dr. Lutfi Kurban is an experienced Consultant Radiologist with over 20 years of practice in Diagnostic Radiology with specialist interest in body cross imaging. He trained at Grampian Teaching Hospitals in Aberdeen, UK, with additional specialization in thoracic imaging, at the renowned Royal Brompton Hospital, London. During his time at Grampian University Hospitals, Dr. Lutfi held leadership roles in urological imaging, tumor ablation, and thoracic and hepatobiliary imaging services. He contributed to the UK national consensus on MRI prostate imaging and has authored two book chapters on prostate cancer diagnosis and imaging. He also served as a clinical adviser for a National Institute of Health Research systematic review on prostate imaging. He led Minimal Invasive Ablation Therapy (MIT) at Grampian University Hospitals and he served as a clinical adviser for MIT for North of Scotland Cancer Network (NOSCAN) from 2011 to 2014 Dr. Lutfi has contributed to research in radiology through several original articles published in high-impact journals such as Clinical Radiology, BMJ, Acta Radiologica, AJR and Frontier Medicine. He also actively participated in a UK multicenter clinical trial lead by Cambridge evaluating the diagnostic accuracy and cost-effectiveness of Dynamic Contrast Enhanced CT for assessing Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Dr. Lutfi has been active in academia, serving as a clinical lecturer at Aberdeen University, assistant professor at UAE University and Gulf Medical University, and contributing to the education of medical students and radiology trainees. He has been an invited speaker at local, national, and international radiological and oncological conferences. Dr. Lutfi led quality initiatives, peer review processes, and clinical audits in the Radiology department at Seha Hospitals from 2014 to 2021. He then became the Chief of Medical Imaging at American Hospital Dubai, where he focused on enhancing imaging quality, safety, and efficiency from 2021 to 2024.
