Dr. Maysoon Al Karam is an experienced Ophthalmologist and Medical Retina Specialist who also serves as Chief Medical Officer. With more than 18 years of medical and healthcare leadership experience, she is committed to advancing clinical quality, strengthening healthcare operations, and improving patient-centred care.

She holds an MSc in Clinical Ophthalmology from University College London and completed a Medical Retina Fellowship at the Royal Free Hospital in London. She earned her medical degree in the UAE and also holds an MSc in Healthcare Management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In addition, she is certified by the American Board of Medical Quality.

Dr. Maysoon previously served as Operations Director for the SEHA COVID-19 Vaccine Phase III Clinical Trial Project at ADNEC and its extension trial site at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City. She also served as Outpatient Operations Director at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, overseeing multidisciplinary outpatient clinics. She is a board member of the Emirates Society of Ophthalmology and combines extensive clinical expertise with strong leadership in healthcare quality, operations, and patient-focused service delivery.
