Research Scientist
Tania Griñán Ramirez is a senior researcher at the Center of Molecular Immunology, CIM, Havana, Cuba. The group she leads has broad experience in the fields of immunology and immunotherapy. She received her BS in Microbiology and Health Technology from Havana University of Medical Sciences and later her Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Hav ana University. In her final degree, the subject of her graduate thesis was the generation of monoclonal antibodies with cytotoxic effects on tumor cells. Having started her work with CIM for more than twenty years ago, she had grown her successful career ladder from a senior technician position to the position of researcher in significant departments like Tumor Immunology and Immunology and Immunotherapy. Also, her field of experience will include advanced cell culture, monoclonal antibody generation, flow cytometry, and experimental de sign. She significantly contributed to numerous peer-reviewed publications on issues concerning antibodies and tumor immunosurveillance. Tania Griñan Ramirez had been awarded many honors; the most relevant were several awards from the Cuban Academy of Sciences. More important, the recognition with regard to her effort in science was an order entitled the "Juan Tomas Roig Medal." She did research but also continued work as an adjunct faculty to conduct the teaching of classes related to immunology and bio chemistry courses. To date, she continues to give the highe st importance to the line of investigation about cancer immunotherapy and molecular immunology.
